(It is a bit harder to shop for those unless you know exactly what your soccer player wants.)

So, let’s begin by reviewing some great options! Firstly, all soccer players require a great soccer ball, a solid pair of running and/or training shoes, in addition to their beloved cleats.

2. Running/Training Shoes

As for top running and training shoes, I would suggest the following:

  • Adidas UltraBOOST (Men’s & Women’s): The Adidas UltraBOOST shoe features boost technology that is unique solely to the Adidas brand. If you haven’t tried them yet, you might want to give them a go! I have the triple white UltraBOOSTs and absolutely love them! They are my favorite sneaker of all me because they truly provide top notch comfort for your foot. Also, the cushion is like one I have never felt before, to me they are incredibly comfortable. Also, the knit material will allow your foot to breathe, so that your shoe and foot don’t get too sweaty and smelly. (Nobody enjoys smelly feet, right?)

  • Nike LunarGlide 8 (Women’s): I love the color of this running shoe! The style and color look great! Also, the LunarGlide features a soft midsole and lightweight dynamic support. Furthermore, its Flywire technology fits snuggly around your foot for a comfortable fit.
  • Adidas Sambas (Men’s & Women’s): If your soccer player does not own a pair of Sambas yet, then this a great go-to shoe. All soccer players know this is a classic sneaker to the sport when going to games, practices, workouts, or even to wear during a soccer game on a gym court. Also, because the shoe has a completely flat sole, you can use this for lifting, such as with squats and deadlifts. Additionally, this shoe is available in both white and black, providing you with the option of choosing the type of style you want to sport.

3. Cleats

In terms of choosing the best cleats, the following may be good choices!

  • Copa Mundial: These are classics. If your soccer player is into the classic soccer style, then this is the ideal cleat for them! Adidas first introduced this boot in 1979 for the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. Since then, they have maintained their iconic style with just minor changes. Also, this boot features a kangaroo leather upper for optimal comfort and flexibility during your game.

For the players that are all about trying the new cleats featuring technologies and fits that differ from the classics, then these cleats would probably appeal to you:

  • Nemeziz by Messi: These cleats partially feature the new style and technology that has been overwhelmingly spreading throughout the soccer community. They reach halfway up your ankle in a sock type form. So, they should feel snug and comfortable around your foot, allowing for the best movement. Additionally, it features a synthetic upper.
  • Nike Mercurial (Men’s & Women’s): The Mercurial style has been quite popular amongst the Nike cleat options. This one in particular features a full sock type fit with the knit collar that wraps around the ankle. It’s micro-textured synthetic and lightweight material should help you to reach your top speed while playing.

4. Hoodies/Zip-ups

Whether you’re going to the gym, on a run, or to play soccer, you will almost always require a hoodie and/or zip-up for your warm up and cool down. (Unless of course you live somewhere where it is consistently hot outside, but even then, you still may enjoy wearing a zip-up!)

  • Adidas Z.N.E Hoody (Men’s & Women’s): The Adidas Z.N.E. has been featured by pro soccer player Gareth Bale and sports a unique look. It’s a thick zip-up hoodie, so I would not recommend this for someone that is looking for something light and airy. However, if you want a thick jacket, then this is a great fit! I especially like the slick look and feel. It comes in different colors.
  • UA Storm Lightweight Swacket (Men’s): This Under Armour zip-up is a mixture between a sweatshirt and jacket, hence the clever name. It is ideal for moderate temperatures and its loose, lightweight fit is perfect for going on runs!
  • UA Storm Armour Fleece (Women’s): Ideal for colder weather, this sweatshirt is lined with fleece to keep you feeling warm and cozy! It also has a slick look with a loose, relaxed fit so that you can easily layer underneath it if needed. Again, this is great for running and playing soccer outside in cold temperatures.

5. Backpack

For those of you that use soccer bags, these are some new designs and options that you may like. However, if you are like me, then maybe you don’t use your actual soccer bag any longer, but instead, carry your cleats in another style backpack. If so, we have some options here for you too!

  • Nike Soccer Backpacks: These are basically your standard soccer bags that feature space for your ball and other equipment.
  • Adidas Duffle (Training & Soccer): Yet another style sports bag that you can also use when going to training at the gym.
