There are many ways to naturally treat joint pain without having to take medications, which can be hard on your stomach.  Here are some natural ways to treat joint pain:

  • Eat plenty of Omega 3 Fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids can reduce inflammation in the joint.  You can get fatty acids through taking fish oil supplements or you can eat fatty fish, such as tuna, halibut, sardines, and salmon.
  • Exercise more. When you exercise, you can increase the flexibility of your joints, which will reduce the pain. Try doing low impact aerobics that will put less stress on your joints.
  • Lose weight. Losing weight can take the pressure off your joints so that you can feel better. This is especially true for the joints in your feet, hips, and knees.  Losing weight will also decrease any future damage you might have to your joint.
  • Think about Acupuncture. Acupuncture involves putting slim needles into acupuncture points, located throughout the body.  The idea behind acupuncture is that it restores the balance and improves the energy level in your body.

While many of these herbal supplements haven’t been tested in a laboratory, there is anecdotal evidence that shows this can be helpful in the treatment of arthritis.  Some herbs you can try include thunder god vine, stinging nettle, ginkgo, devil’s claw, bromelain, and boswellia.
